Slow Computer Startup?

So you want to check your emails, you turn on your computer and wait five minutes? Ten minutes? Fifteen minutes? Can you keep your patience any longer?

What choices are you faced with?

Leaving the computer on 24 hours a day is all I can see, this wastes power and costs far too much, so do you just wait and hope?

Well in actual fact there is no need for your computer to be left in this condition. There are no rules that say when you buy a new computer expect it to run at a third of its optimum speed after only three or four weeks of service. There are things that you personally can do to keep it fast and efficient for years to come.

Here are a few tips to stop slow computer startup;

(1) You don't need all those programs that come on with your start up so cut some of them out. You will see a phenomenal boost in your start up speed if you take away the extra software and clutter from your computer that really is un-necessary. If you go "search box" in vista or the "run" menu in XP then go MSCONFIG, go "start up" in MSCONFIG utility and take out any programs that aren't needed for your computer to run. This can be virtually everything, but make sure you leave touchpad, graphics card and anti virus turned on. You can throw out everything else if you want to.

(2) Adware and Spyware should be removed next;

Something else that can cause slow computer startup is the amount of spyware and adware that has found its way to your files. A good registry cleaning program will remove them all. You can keep off these uncalled for assaults on your computer if you get a firewall, Zone Alarm for example.

(3) Don't forget to allow your Updates;

You can regularly update with Windows, first though it needs your permission to get the correct files when they are required. This done your PC should be given all of the up to date security upgrades which will reduce the slow down.

Following these 3 steps alone, you will see massive speed improvement on your computer. It will be booting up in seconds. You have the power, you just have to act.
